Check yourself before you wreck yourself

Updated: Aug 1, 2019

First priority - you.

Each morning you wake up – what is your priority? Your main concern?

In all honesty, I hope your health is on the very top of that list. Yes, we have family, money, work or school happening, but is that worth anything if you’re not feeling A-Okay?

There are various areas of being healthy that we need to check into on the daily, the main ones being physical health, mental health and spiritual health. All of these are intrinsically intertwined and need constant work and effort from our sides.

Now physical health is worth more than one blog on its own, but this is more of a focus on our general, overall #wellbeing. Having a quick look into physical health; Are you consuming ENOUGH food? Or are you on a calorie deficit with the hopes of losing some kg’s? How often are you out exercising or hitting the gym? The most important question is – are you NOURISHING your body or depriving it of everything that is good and wholesome?

Secondly, and this is a very important issue that keeps pressing on my heart – mental well-being. What does that even mean, how does it feel to be mentally healthy?

Some people might not even know, and that is probably the saddest part of it all. You see, in some societies we blatantly disregard the fact that depression exists. We see teenagers, young adults and grown-ups alike struggle through their day with the hope that tomorrow will be better.

Let me put it to you (lawyer lingo) – depression is very real, as is anxiety and the importance of your #mentalhealth is probably the realest of them all.

Feeling sick? Go to the doctor. Feeling anxious and like you are in a dark place? Go to a psychologist or anyone who is equipped to help you. Just don’t leave your health hanging on a thread.

Live your best life, babe!
